"Typical bcc" means: clear structures, high standards and shared values. This is reflected in everything we do.

Architecture

We maintain and preserve this modern architectural landmark at Alexanderplatz. The aesthetic and high standards of the architecture inspire everything the bcc does.

  • Form, function, vision and representation – the architect Hermann Henselmann brought all these elements together in his design for what is now the bcc.
  • Transparency, openness and clear geometric forms dominate the first impression of the building with its Bauhaus-influenced modern architecture.
  • The round within the square is a recurring motif in the building. Striking colour accents and whimsical, handcrafted details stand out against the prevailing clean lines as well. The architect Hermann Henselmann described these "productive contradictions" as central to his design.
  • Architecture as added value: At congresses, conferences, meetings and other events, the building’s architecture is an integral part of the staging.
  • Timeless design: Timeless, modern forms and high-quality materials have characterised the entire building and its furnishings since the 1960s. We continue to apply this design philosophy today in all new purchases and developments.
  • The impressive domed hall is the heart of the bcc. It provides the perfect setting for spectacular events in a stylish, modern atmosphere and is surprisingly versatile.
  • Preserving this architectural monument means, for us, ensuring the above-average standard of maintenance and cleanliness throughout the entire building. This is achieved, not least, by our in-house teams of craftsmen and cleaning staff.
  • A view of the Berlin TV Tower: Large windows offer a view of the capital’s iconic monument and the bustling streets of Berlin.

Optics and Functionality

At the bcc, functionality, high quality and durability are our top priorities. Everything has a purpose; every element serves a role.

  • Flexibility – from event format to seating arrangements. The adaptable architecture, modular partition walls and well-designed furniture open up a wide range of versatile, quickly adaptable options – whether it’s an annual conference with or without an evening event, a press conference or a conference with an awards ceremony.
  • High-quality design that combines functionality and aesthetics – without compromise. Where no suitable products or solutions exist, they are developed specifically for the bcc. Take, for example, the custom-made curved screen in the domed hall, which follows the shape of the room and ensures that all attendees have an optimal view of the content.
  • Clear, uniform design: all elements at the bcc blend harmoniously. Whether it is furniture or tableware, the consistent, unadorned design conveys a sense of calm and professionalism.
  • Carefully selected materials are an integral part of successful design at the bcc. They ensure high functionality, durability and aesthetic appeal.
  • A clean colour scheme helps participants focus on the content of the congresses, conferences and meetings held at the bcc. Colour accents, such as the blue ceilings in the foyers, create deliberate contrasts and make the building easily recognisable.

Quality

Our high standard of quality, inside and out, is the basis for successful events.

  • Clear structures and processes ensure smooth operations for congresses, conferences and meetings held at the bcc. An indispensable part of this is our large, in-house team, who are well versed in all these processes.
  • Everything on site: an in-house catering team, modern facilities, state-of-the-art technology and IT infrastructure, as well as an experienced team of 120 employees, ensure well-established processes and a high degree of flexibility for the event organiser.
  • Efficiency is an essential factor in all purchases and developments at the bcc – whether they involve processes, equipment, tools or software. This benefits event organisers, participants and our staff.
  • High-performance technology that works reliably even when things get hectic on stage. That's why we rely on tried-and-tested, state-of-the-art systems – and on meticulous training for our teams.

Corporate Values

For us, our work means taking responsibility. We see ourselves responsible for our business practices, our staff, customers, guests and partners, as well as for our local community and the social impact of our operations. The values we uphold at the bcc stem from this mindset.

  • Professionalism and reliability, dependability and planning security are the defining characteristics of planning and executing congresses, conferences and meetings at the bcc.
  • Courtesy and respect towards clients, service providers, guests and employees. We show respect and approach others politely with openness and friendliness.
  • A partnership based on mutual respect is important to us, both internally and with customers and business partners. Our aim is to work together to find the best possible solution – through open, respectful and constructive communication.
  • Solution-oriented thinking characterises the bcc's working methods and approach. We don't ask if but rather how something can be made possible.
  • Sustainability as a responsibility. We take a forward-thinking approach and use resources carefully. This involves constantly reviewing and improving our processes.

Employer

The event industry is known for being fast-paced. However, the bcc takes a long-term view – particularly as an employer. Reliability is a two-way street: our staff can count on us, and we can count on them.

  • Focus on permanent employment: Unlike many other companies in the event sector, the bcc relies on a large permanent team of around 120 employees.
  • Interest in long-term collaboration: We offer our employees long-term career prospects. For those starting out in their careers, we offer seven apprenticeship programmes and two dual study programmes with a genuine interest in offering permanent employment at a later stage.
  • Quick decision-making processes and flat hierarchies are what set us apart – decisions are made collectively at the bcc.
  • We look after our staff: We want them to enjoy their work and look forward to coming to the bcc. We create the right working environment, take personal circumstances into account and ensure a family-friendly atmosphere.
  • A structured onboarding process: Clear structures and processes are important to us at every level and across all departments. To ensure that new colleagues can make the most of their skills in the long term, we focus on a comprehensive, systematic onboarding programme with varied tasks and fair expectations.

Employees

At the bcc, around 120 employees across seven departments organise a wide range of high-quality events.

  • A strong sense of belonging with the bcc. Many team members have been with us for many years. They are familiar with the venue, with each other, and with the demands of all types of events.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and an exceptional commitment to service are the hallmarks of our team. They act professionally, transparently and reliably to meet the bcc's high quality standards and fulfil client expectations.
  • Hands-on mentality: Whenever necessary, all staff members pitch in straight away, enabling a high degree of flexibility even beyond their everyday tasks.
  • Pure team spirit: because staff have the bigger picture in mind, they think and act beyond their own departments. Knowing each other well makes transparent communication easier.
