House Rules
These House Rules apply to all persons on the premises bcc Berlin Congress Center, Alexanderstr. 11 in 10178 Berlin, Germany (hereinafter referred to as "bcc"). This includes, in particular, employees and service providers of the bcc, event participants, the organiser's or client's employees and service providers, speakers, exhibitors and other guests. The respective organiser or client and the bcc Berlin Congress Center GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "bcc GmbH") as the operator are responsible for ensuring compliance with these rules.
Violations of these House Rules may result in exclusion from the event or a permanent ban from the premises. Bans from the premises apply to all current and future events at the bcc. In such cases, there is no right to a refund of the event ticket price.
The provisions of the German Youth Protection Act (Jugendschutzgesetz) apply. Children and adolescents under the age of 16 may only enter the bcc when accompanied by a responsible adult.
All bcc facilities must be treated with consideration and care. Everyone must exercise caution to ensure that no one is harmed, endangered, unnecessarily hindered or harassed.
The Front Office is the central point of contact at the bcc and must be informed immediately in the event of accidents, sudden illness, fire, criminal offences or any kind of damage.
Escape and rescue routes, as well as emergency exits, must be kept clear at all times.
The evacuation or closure of rooms, specific areas, or open spaces may be ordered for safety reasons. All persons must comply with the instructions given without delay.
All persons must be prepared for bag, body and identity checks as part of security measures. Small bags with a capacity of up to 20 litres (e.g. small bags, handbags, laptop bags, small backpacks or belt bags) may be brought into the bcc. Large items of luggage, such as suitcases, travel bags or travel backpacks, are not permitted in the bcc. Exhibition‑related and event-related materials are exempt from this rule and may be brought in during the official set‑up period after being inspected. Stricter regulations may apply to individual events. The bcc assumes no liability for valuables, money or keys left in stored luggage or at the cloakroom.
Animals (with the exception of assistance dogs) and the following items are not permitted in the bcc:
- weapons and dangerous objects that can be used as weapons or projectiles;
- fireworks, pyrotechnic materials and explosives;
- spray cans containing highly flammable or harmful gases, as well as substances that are corrosive or likely to cause stains;
- containers made of breakable or splintering material;
- instruments and objects that can be used to make excessive noise;
- drugs as defined by the German Narcotics Act (Betäubungsmittelgesetz);
- clothing, flags, banners, posters, symbols or objects whose content or meaning is extremist, racist, anti-Semitic, Islamist, anti-democratic, inhumane, glorifies violence, is discriminatory or in any other way unconstitutional or illegal and constitutes a criminal or regulatory offence or originates from political parties or organisations that have been declared unconstitutional or banned.
The following behaviours are prohibited at the bcc:
- extremist, racist, anti-Semitic, Islamist, anti-democratic, inhumane, violence-glorifying, discriminatory or otherwise unconstitutional or unlawful expressions, representations or actions;
- disruption of an event through inappropriate behaviour or noise disturbances;
- smoking indoors, including the use of electronic cigarettes, heated tobacco products or vaping devices;
- wearing or using items that hinder or prevent identification (e.g. motorcycle helmets or pieces of clothing);
- unauthorised access to production, storage or office areas;
- photography or filming for commercial purposes without prior authorisation.
The bcc GmbH reserves the right to deny entry to individuals or to escort them from the bcc's premises if:
- security checks, including identity checks requested by the authorities, are refused;
- instructions issued by security personnel are not followed;
- proof of admission cannot be provided;
- a valid identification document (identity card or passport) is not presented upon request;
- official regulations or security concerns prohibit entry;
- the individual is recognisably under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- the individual is carrying items that could endanger the safety of others;
- the individual has been previously banned from the premises.
